Promenons-nous dans les Bois

This year was my last year as a student and to finish it we had to do a project, whatever it was animation / architecture / VFX / Real time, but it had to be in 3D ... to show our skills. We were two on this project and we chose to do a short-film because, in my opinion, this is the best way to show many skills in 3D.
 
I've posted earlier this year the WIP project with some researchs and the animatic but we had so many work for school, on this project and we had a 3 months internship so I didn't post many advancements.
 
So here we are, Promenons-nous dans les Bois is finished, it was not that easy but we ultimately did it ! 
I will first post the final short-movie and then the process for whoever is interested. All critics, comments or even advices are very welcome. Thanks for reading, enjoy !
 
 
 
 
On this project we were two as I said before, Sylvain Glineur and I, we worked together because I liked some aspects of the work that he really didn't and vice versa. 
We splited tasks :
 
Sylvain :
 
• modeling ( Wolf, Daddy, Lola's body and props, weapon, living room )

Me:
 
• concept art
• character design
• storyboard
• modeling ( Lola's face + hair , forest )
• uv unwarping + texturing
• lighting
• morphing ( Lola, Wolf )
• animation ( Wolf, Daddy )
• opening & end titles
 
 
 
 
Lola is the main character of the story, she's 8, a little chubby, brave and loves to play with her daddy.
Wolf is big and bad as the legend says but he can be tricked by clever little girls dressed in red.
Daddy is the funniest and kindest dad in the world, maybe too much ?
Everything in the forest was low poly, first because it was way faster to render and then because we wanted something stylized to break with the smooth cartoon render we have with characters or the living room. It showed the transition beetwin real life and imagination without beeing too strong.
I also painted each and every texture by hand like a speed-paint to have that effect, we wanted a different render that many of 3D animations have and make it looks like a bit 2D.
The sky was hand painted too .
